San José

Returning to my hometown after being away for so long was not something I was prepared to experience. Old memories arrived as a flow of sensations - the scent of eucalyptus or the sound of cracked leaves. The memories became physical. It’s never just the event; it’s the context too.

I believe the texture in the images give the sense that the photographs are physical. Something that could be exposed to weathering, wrinkles and stains. They would change in the same way memory can.
